Selection Camp
Think you have been through the toughest camp? Well, all my camps in primary school and secondary school were easy. However last week, I went for the selection camp for student council and the experience was so sucky that I wouldnt wish to go through it again.
6pm, friday, all nominees gathered beside the tennis court. I was so afraid that we were late because ruiqi ate her lunch at 5.45pm. As expected, there were some people who were late. 3 people late = 3 mistakes = 30 pumpings.
The first activity was to test your endurance. We were divided into 3 groups and each group had to go to one classroom. The first group had to do half squats, second group had to do push-up position and the third group just need to lie down on the floor. When the insturctor blew the whistle, those who were lying had to change to half squats, those doing push-up position had to can lie down while those doing half squats changed to push-up position. The insturctor would only blow the whistle when those lying on the floor raise their hands. Before the start of the game, we were all blind-folded. I was in the second group and the third group took a very long time to raise their hands. As a result, all of us had to stay in our push up position for a long time. Pity those doing half squats too. While doing the push-up position, my hands gave away many times and my forehead and nose hit the floor. Ouch man! My legs trembled when doing half sqauts.
After that activity, we had to clear our pumpings. Due to those mistakes we had made, we accumulated a total of 1430 push-ups. Then everyone did push-up except those who had long-term medical illness did double crunches instead. My hands were numb so I asked permission to do crunches.
I cant remember whats the rest of the activities for day 1. The only thing I remember was I didnt bathe at all. We were only given 15mins to bathe. So I just wet my hair and left the toilet. Stupid thing is the girls had to tie their hair when they left the toilet. Hair stinked if you tie when its wet.
Lights out at 12.45am. They called us wake up at 3am. Nice. I think most of us only had 2 hours of sleep maximum.
Then we played another blindfold game. But it was one of the easiest game. As long as no physical training inolved, its easy. Just mentally tired.
After that, we were ordered to shift all the furnitures from the classrooms at block C to the hall. Its not a long distance but when we were told to shift them more than twice, we were just too tired to continue. I know wingtong had gotten a lot of bruises from carrying the tables. Then I don't know why she got leg cramp.
Breakfast was bread.
Discussion of finale preparation after breakfast. That was the slackiest part of the camp. We could just sit at the gallery steps and discuss about our cheers and skit. Some fell asleep.
Er.. skip all the way to clearing of pumpings, as usual, I didnt do pumpings. I did half squats instead then ahhhhh black out. Lol. And because of that, I was exempted of the next activity. Shiok.
Before the finale, we needed to clear our pumpings. Everyone did crunches instead. No one wanted to do pumpings anymore. Seriously, crunches is damn easy compared to push-ups.
Finale was at least enjoyable. Skit by the 32nd SC was hilarious.
After that, home sweet home. Reached home at 10pm. Exhausted.
A few days later, the result of people who passed the selection camp was out. I passed.
Just yesterday was my election. I made a speech and I screwed up. ^^ Johnny knows.
