Weird Education System
Ranting starts....
Firstly, our holidays are not exactly holidays. A few days back, two students from my school did a presentation on their trip to London and they said that London students have school holidays which are really holidays. There is no need to do homework or revise for their upcoming tests because there is no upcoming test. Unlike in here, our holidays means more studying. I guess everyone should know about this by now as since primary school, we were told to come back for extra lessons and were given tons of homework. As we move on to our next education level, which is secondary school, things are getting even worse. I do not know about the rest of secondary school but my secondary school had made us study during the Chinese New Year break because after the break we had tests. If we don't study during these breaks, how are we going to pass our tests. Then again, if we studied, we lose the definition of break. Break is meant for us to take a rest. Festive breaks are meant for us to celebrate. I seriously envy people in London.
Secondly, I hate teachers who act to be kind and sweet and caring and understanding and knowledgeable when they are actually not. Last Friday, a Bio HOD came to our class to invigilate the class because our bio teacher is new here. Because of that, our bio teacher changed totally. Normally, she would immediately scold us for being late, scold us for not queuing up for every morning assembly(oh btw she is our co-civic tutor.. how unlucky) and scold us for being so noisy. However that day she was all smiling and went straight to our tutorials.
During the explanation of tutorial, we didn't know why the answer for a particular question is C instead of B. When we asked her, she didn't know how to explain as well. All she said was because option C is a better answer compared to B. Even when she tried to explain, it was the wrong explanation because in the end it was the HOD who explained to us why option C is the answer. We were all enlightened and our bio teacher got owned.
